SAA(Serum Amyloid A)

Serum amyloid A (SAA) protein is a member of the apolipoprotein family associated with high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in plasma.

Feature

■ Acute phase protein produced in response to inflammation or infection
■ Produced mainly in the liver
■ SAA (10~100 mg/L): Viral infections, tissue damage, systemic lupus erythematosus, cystitis, and other localized inflammations
■ SAA (100~1,000 mg/L): Bacterial infections, invasive malignant diseases, acute myocardial infarction, etc.
■ Rapidly increases in response to inflammation within 5 to 6 hours, rising up to 1,000 times the normal level within 2 to 3 days
■ A more sensitive inflammatory marker than CRP

Measurement Conditions

■ Test Procedure for Analyzers (Hitachi 7180)

      - Assay Mode: 2 Point End 19-3

      - Wave length(main/sub): 546/800nm

■ Open reagent

Measurement

Performance

■ Linearity: Correlation coefficient R² ≥ 0.991 in the range of 5~300 mg/L

■ Correlation: y(J&T) = 0.8925x(Siemens) + 1.5086

      (R² = 0.9749, n = 105, Range = 1.1~300.0 mg/L)

■ Normal reference range: Serum ≤ 10.0 mg/L (37℃)
